Coupons for Organic and Vegetarian Food

Outside of the Internet, two great sources for vegetarian and organic coupons that I’ve found are the Mambo Sprouts booklet and the complimentary Taste for Life magazine. To find out which locations near you carry Mambo Sprouts, use the locate store feature on the Mambo Sprouts website. I found some in Whole Foods; they had a wire stand full of them at the front of the store.

As for the Taste for Life magazine, our local Sunflower Markets carries these at the front of their store. Last month there were coupons for 1.00/2 any Amy’s Kitchen product and 1.00/1 any Organic Valley product; this month there is a coupon for Kashi TLC bars, 1.00/1. Both my boyfriend and I absolutely adore Amy’s Kitchen food, so this coupon was a great find for me.

Deal on Amy's Kitchen Pockets at Target !

I got some good deals on frozen veggie food at Target today; they had some Amy’s Kitchen Spinach Feta Pockets on clearance for .98! I used the 1.00/2 Amy’s Kitchen coupons I had from Sunflower’s free Taste for Life magazines, so they ended up being .48 each. Considering that these usually run about 2.00 each, this was a pretty good deal. I also used some of my Mambo Sprouts booklet coupons, I ended up getting two packages of Boca Burgers for 1.24 each, and some FruitBü fruit snacks for 1.54.

I am very happy with the Organic Valley coupons in the Mambo Sprouts booklet; it brings the cost of cage-free eggs down to a very reasonable level. We rarely drink cow’s milk (we drink soy milk instead, and occasionally Organic Valley milk), and I won’t buy non-cage free eggs. Although we are by no means vegans, I personally try to minimize the amount of dairy and eggs from unknown sources that I consume. This has a lot of health benefits, as I eat a whole lot less junk food, and more fruits and veggies! I used to eat a lot of junk, but after I became a vegetarian a few years ago, I’ve noticed many positive changes in my health, not to mention in my waistline.

Flicks for Free at Vons

Vons had some pretty good deals going on this week, so I decided to get one last free pair of tickets. I spent 27.84, 3.43 of which I can get back from the Wish-bone Bountifuls rebate. Right now relish is .29 after a 1.00 off coupon you can get from the Vlasic website, or you can print them from this pdf file (from Slickdeals.net).

It's the 1st of June, so you know what that means! New deals at CVS! To top it off, it's also a Sunday, so I did a combination of monthly and weekly deals. I paid a little bit more OOP than I usually do, but I managed to get a bunch of things we needed.

Purchase a bottle of Wish-bone Bountifuls Dressing from May 30th to June 1st and receive it free after rebate! Simply print out the rebate form from their website, and submit it along with your receipt. I plan on buying the Tuscan Romano Basil when I go grocery shopping on Sunday; I love Italian food and herbs, and it looks delicious! Thanks to Money Saving Mom for the heads up!

Deal on Morningstar Farm Products at Target

Target currently has a coupon good for $2.00 off 2 Morningstar Farms products. You can print as many of these coupons as you want from A Full Cup's coupon generator, or from the Target website itself. I recommend using A Full Cup, as you can print many coupons on one page, and save paper that way. Although these coupons say SuperTarget on them, you can use them at any Target store.

Target has many Morningstar items, ranging in price from 2.99 (Corndogs and others) on up. You can also combine your TQ (Target Coupon) in conjunction with a MQ (Manufacturer's Coupon) available on the Morningstar Farm's website. Sign up for their "Insider" newsletter and service, then click on this link to print your coupon. You can print two of these coupons; they are good for any Morningstar Farms breakfast items. If you use two of these with the TQ, you can get $4.00 off total! I purchased two packages of Veggie Sausage Patties for around $2.50 yesterday, I plan on using them in the Baked Asiago Frittata recipe that they include with the coupon printout.

Welcome to the Frugal Vegetarian!

For the past six months, I've been an avid reader in the "frugal" blogosphere. Blogs such as Money Saving Mom, The "Cent"sible Sawyer, and Jane4girls have shown me how to survive and thrive on a low budget. As a vegetarian, I often find myself scouring these blogs, along with Hot Coupon World, Slick Deals and local grocery store ads for deals on vegetarian and vegan products. I recently decided that it would be fun to have a vegetarian themed frugal blog; this is the result!

I hope to be adding more content in the coming days, most of my posts will focus on vegetarian deals, although I will also look at deals in the Las Vegas area, at CVS and Walgreens, as well as whatever I think is helpful.
